Get unstuck from anxiety and self-doubt

If your coping strategies aren’t working, here’s why + the 4 key skills you need to make this puzzle fit together

If you feel like "I’ve tried everything and nothing works”

You’re not alone

I talk to women every day who have done it all:

Therapy, medication, meditation, affirmations, supplements, breathing, exercise, diet changes and what they’ve found is

These strategies are either:

  1. not accessible (you’re too exhausted, numbed out or agitated to use them)

  2. Not getting to the root (they help temporarily but the problem comes back)

Here’s what’s going on

Self-care strategies are not “one size fits all”

There are four key skills that you need in order to know which strategies are right or you, when to use them and how to adapt them, so that they actually address the root cause of the problem

You need to know

  1. How to shift your body and mind out of survival mode

Shifting out of survival mode is like learning to drive — It takes time or it to feel easy and automatic, but you can make some very fast progress right at the beginning just by learning the basics off how your car works

  2. How to read what stage of your stress response you’re in

A lot of people have heard of “fight or flight” but did you know your stress response actually has 6 stages? And you need to do different things for each other

I know that sounds complicated, but just like learning when yo park and when to reverse, you will get the hand of it in no time.

  3. How to adapt self-care strategies to fit your nervous system

Have you ever tried to something to calm yourself down, but felt yo numbed out or agitated?

You’re not lazy or broken. You just need to know how to read where your nervous system is at and how to adapt the strategy to it your current stress response

  4. How to build capacity

Anxiety is stuck energy. Bottom line, you need to move that energy in a safe and contained way. In order to do that, you need to wiring in your nervous system that allows you to contain large volumes of energy. This is called “nervous system capacity". A lack of capacity is the #1 most common reason that people get stuck

When you master these skills and build nervous system capacity, then you stop struggling to cope and you start getting unstuck for good

In resilience,

Caitlin
