Are you stressed out by all the stuff you have to do to manage stress?
Newsflash: Something is wearing you down, but it's not stress - it’s fear
We’ve been taught that:
- Our stress response is bad
- Our body produces adrenaline and cortisol in response to stress
- We need to manage our stress before we burnout
But what if I told you all three of those things are wrong.
The truth is:
- Your stress response is useful, necessary and frequently beneficial for your mind and body
- Stress can prompt your body to produce oxytocin (the love hormone). Your body only defaults to adrenaline and cortisol if your nervous system has been programmed to react in fear.
- You DO NOT need to manage stress.
- You need to eliminate fear.
