Earth, sea and sky - from my run today...
Here is your gentle kick in the pants to get out of the house and let the sun, wind and rain touch your face.
You are a spark of life itself. You need the company of other living creatures and the rhythm of the natural world. You are not built to stare at a screen all day.
You need rocks and mud under your feet and birds chirping in your ears and the wild sky overhead and light everywhere, shifting and moving because everything moves and everything changes and yet remains contained in the great body of creation, contained in the rhythms of life itself, contained in the palm of a broad hand whose outline we can only begin to glimpse in the profile of mountain ranges
These tactile experiences of the world are a gift to us, to remind us that there is a larger order to things, that we don't need to hold on to some static form or exert some artificial control, that it is all outside our control and that is as it should be, and here we are, with our feet planted on the ground, alive in the moment and knowing that no matter how the clouds and the wind and the earth itself shifts and trembles and ebbs and flows, no matter how our body and mind shift and change, run wild, fall apart -- we ourselves are constant, the eternal living spark animating this great roiling beautiful mess of material energy.
